ANZAC Biscuits
Baked by wives and mothers for our soldiers abroad. Crunchy or chewy? Depends on your oven, your timing, and your patience.

My youngest daughter Norah brought this recipe home from school yesterday and she decided we had to bake them for ANZAC Day today.
Her STEAM teacher baked a batch of these biscuits during class and handed them out to the students at the end. No wonder she was so keen to bake them—she had a taste and had to have more!
We decided to leave them as balls of dough on the tray (rather than flattening them out), so that the centres were soft and chewy while the edges were golden and crunchy. Delicious!
Our family recipe
As usual, the ingredients and directions below are more of a rough guide than a rigid plan. Use your judgement and, as my wife would say, "cook with your heart" (especially when it comes to garlic, then you always add "two hearts" worth).
And by the way, remember to tap each ingredient and direction to cross it off the list!
